SCENE SHANG is an award-winning contemporary furniture and home decor brand, with roots firmly planted in a rich Asian heritage.
Jessica Wong, the founder of SCENE SHANG, is a designer whose works span across graphic, product, furniture, interior and architectural designs.
Born in Singapore, Jessica graduated from the National University of Singapore with an honours degree in Architecture. An internship in Shanghai ignited her passion for traditional Asian craft and soon she found herself compelled to create contemporary designs inspired by tradition.
Her designs are inspired by stories and shifus (mastercraftsmen) and beautifully brings tradition together with modernity.
Her work has since won design awards including a Special Commendation at the President’s Design Award (2014), ASEAN Furniture Design Award (2018) and Singapore Creator Awards (2019).
In 2025, the XUAN Table, the SHANG System and the JIA JU Rocking Stool were acquired by the Asian Civilisations Museum, Singapore.
SCENE SHANG works closely with traditional artisans from Asia to reimagine the silhouettes of yesteryear for the urban home, each with its own story to tell.
